John is based in Bradford but he does not charge extra for mileage, as he feels anyone living outside Yorkshire is suffering enough already!

His concerts are intimate occasions of song and chat, where our sadnesses and frustrations are mixed with the humour of observed absurdity.

The ordinary things and universal experiences of life and love show us much about how we are with God. John expects a number of people who are not yet Christians to be in the audience, so church may not be the best venue, but he is happy to play anywhere… Probably.

John’s musical influences include: Big Bill Broonzy, Bob Dylan, Ray Davies, Martyn Joseph, John Mayall, Nina Simone, Bruce Springsteen, Mavis Staples, & the Joy Strings

Although usually in Bradford, and working by day in schools for the Zephaniah Trust, founded 1994 (reg. charity 1036478, http://www.zephaniah.org.uk), John likes to get up and down the country playing to grown-ups for a few weeks every year.
